With Best Compliments

It is very nicely said by Baz Lurhmann in one of the famous song "Remember the compliments you, forget the insults. If you succeed in doing this, tell me how".

I consider Compliments as the most important thing, when it comes to effective communication.

Believe me “Behind every compliment, there is a hidden story of its own", which eventually never turns out. Sometimes you understand, sometime you don’t.

This one is a small write up dedicated to Compliments.

The 2 vital 'C's in life "Compliments & Criticism". They have the power either to Make you or Break you. Criticism can break the confidence of a person in one shot & similarly a small little compliment can generate a Spark, which can later be turned in to a flame, if taken positively.

It is said, "To know the importance of win, you have to loose first". So, if you were ever been harassed, embarrassed or even insulted for that matter, remember the same before you criticize, because the "How you make others feel about themselves, says a lot about you".

Not all have the faith & spirit to rise from it. A small little compliment can make someone’s day "Colorful".

If you ever had a conversation with me, you know the way I talk, I can be fluent in Criticism, but at the same time, I appreciate/ compliment even on a small little noticeable thing.

Since I write the true stories, which had happened to me in past, I, am hereby taking liberty to talk about myself.

The thing is " ना मे कभी किसीका Whatsapp status बना और ना हि कभी किसी के Facebook post मे tag हुवा, reason beingमे Personal मे आता हूं, Public मे नाही "- 😆😆One of my own dialogue.

If you know me, you know I am self-addicted (मे अपना Favorite हूं), so the write-up might look over-rated, but as I said, If you know me, you might agree.

Below are the few compliments I had received , which I keep close to my heart & are an integral part of my personality & I re-live them every day.

1." You have a Nice Smile, don’t hide those teeth of yours &  please Flaunt those dimples ".

I had an inferiority complex reason being "Gap in my teeth", not 1 or 2,  I have a window in all the upper level teeth’s. So I use to smile not Laugh Mona-lisa version. I Was just shy that opening the mouth window will lead to the flashing of Gaps.
But one day I was been told by Some-one what I have written above "" You have a Nice Smile, don’t hide those teeth of yours &  please Flaunt those dimples ".
That day & today, I have been smiling. It was that very compliment, which made me feel confident enough to smile & my smile got wider & believe me my Dimples got deeper day by day.
Dimples May be

 2.  "You are your fathers son"

There is a very nice dialogue from the movie "Evan- Almighty", where the God says, "Build an ARK, An ARK is "A Random act of Kindness"".

I was once travelling in my car to my hometown & there was this person (a known person) whom I met accidentally. He was in hurry & had to reach some place for some important work.

I gave him lift to the place, which was in the opposite direction of my journey. He thanked me for that, but expressed his worry, that after finishing the work he again has to reach home, there were some relatives who already had reached his home. I noticed the worry on his face. I dropped him & took a U-turn. Don’t know why, but I again stopped & I thought I shouldn’t leave him mid-way through the journey.

There was a small hotel in the campus. I had some refreshment & I was just waiting eagerly for the man to return. Strangely, I dint even had his contact no. to call & at the same time neither both of us knew, we will be waiting for each other.

After 30 odd mins of wait, the person finally arrived, as expected he was in a hurry. I approached him & said "Is the work finished. If yes, lets go, we have reach home early?".

He was stoned to know, that I was waiting just for him. We had a nice little talk through the small journey. I dropped him to his home. He asked me to come in home for a cup of tea, which I refused, as I had to go to my home as well.

The best moment of the day was, he embraced me & hugged tightly & said "Thank you & one important thing I would like to tell you , You are your fathers son".

It was the Checkmate moment, I was just Amazed.
I guess, the Legacy had just began. It was a small compliment, but gave a lot positive vibes. Encourages me to be courteous & humble.

Like My Father, Like My Son

3. I am glad you called, my birthday isn’t complete without your phone call.

Internet has changed the communication game. Its always been said that internet as brought the world closer, but  is it really true..!!

People often communicate over social media. Often might be the wrong word to use, we can say its the only media these days to connect. Well I personally like the classic way of communication, message or calls, it connects you see.

I have been calling my nears & dears on their birthdays or festive occasions, since the landline days.
It was birthday of my friend & I was out travelling with my family to a religious place. I personally have habit to save reminder in phone for occasions like Birthdays & Anniversaries. So the alarm was on at 10:00 am in the morning, but sadly, there was not mobile network. I tried couple of places, but no luck. Later I forgot to call & we came back home late evening. Just before the dinner, I remembered the friend’s birthday, so I called him up immediately.

What he said was "I am glad you called, actually I was waiting for it, coz my birthday isn’t complete without your phone call".

There was a time during college days, when we use to call all the birthday people right at midnight 12, but now almost all are married & busy in their life. But, no matter where you are, you are just one phone call away.

What my friend said was just a small thing, but has now became the reason for me to call every one of their birthdays; you never know who might be eagerly waiting for your call.

Always remember No Matter Where you are, You are just ONE PHONE CALL away

4. I consider you as the second best dad, after my own father.

Life after marriage is an important phase of life & life after becoming a father is the best feeling in the world.
Playing a fathers role can be critical. We do play many roles in life like being a friend, a sibling, a son/ a daughter, a brother/ a sister, a husband/ a wife, an uncle/ an aunt & the list is long. But the most crucial & important relation after being son is to be a father yourself. Well I am glad & consider myself as a blessed husband & blessed father to have these wonderful people in my life.
I am youngest in my all siblings, so I am pampered since by childhood. I am just passing the legacy to the next generation.
Not once but many a times, I had skipped an important meeting/ an occasion just to drop my son for his school exams or may be a social event. I make sure I am always there for my son, whenever required.

Once I received an astonishing compliment from a friend & it was "I consider you as the second best dad, after my own father".

Remember, A persons greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated. I consider this as the most beautiful compliment one will ever receive.

5. I like to read your blogs, thanks for letting me live your story.

Writing is my new obsession. If you have read my previous blogs, you might know, all I write is just true incidents/ stories, which had happened to me in the past.

Right now there are atleast 2-3 people who appreciate & comment on the page, if they find it interesting, while others just pass.

Initially I used to send the link to people to read, later I realized that, no one reads them. It was been treated as just another whatsapp forwarded message. Nevertheless, looking on the positive side, always value people who appreciate & give time to you.

After reading one of my story, a friend messaged me, "I like to read your blogs; I can imagine the whole scenario in front of my eyes. Thanks for letting me live your story"

Another anonymous message from an email was "Whenever I feel depressed or Low, I read your blogs, brings some positive feeling".

Its just so satisfying that at least 2-3 people connected to what I was trying to say. These small compliments keeps the spirit high.

6. Be like you are, don’t change even a bit (जसा आहेस तसाच रहा)

Well this particular one is a generic compliment, but more important is from whom it comes.

Don’t be greedy to buy all the compliments & let them in your head.

Remember only fools let compliments get to their head & criticism get to their heart. " दिल पे मत ले"

Just to some-it-up, what I want to say is, Keep the noble cause going, be humble, be courteous & be honest.

“Don’t be greedy to sell all your words,  out there are people who will buy everything”.

Be choosy with your words. Words are free, its how you use them, that may cost.

You might have heard this, If you are a vegetarian, doesn’t mean that,  the Lion won’t eat you. Like-wise, if you help or compliment someone, somewhere, sometime it does not imply that you will receive similar help/ compliment in similar situation.

But a classic quote नेकी कर और कुए मी डाल". Eat, Sleep, Be Kind & repeat.

Take- Compliments & Give-Compliments
